Savoury Steak
  • 1 tablespoon plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1kg blade steak
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1½ cups water
  1. Combine flour, sugar, mustard, pepper and salt. Rub well into steak on both sides. Place in a casserole dish. Combine tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and water. Bring to the boil and pour over steak in the casserole. Bake in a slow oven (160C) and cook for 2½ hours or until chops are tender.
